Overview

Specific bioelectrical impedance vector analysis (spBIVA) is a method for the evaluation of body composition. Specific BIVA has proven to be effective in identifying the relative quantity of fat mass, and variations of skeletal muscle mass and extracellular/intracellular water ratio.

The technique is an analytical variant of bioelectrical impedance vector analysis (classic BIVA), conceived by Piccoli et al. in 1994. As in classic BIVA, specific bioelectrical values can be analyzed by means of tolerance and confidence ellipses.

This web application is only a demo about the specific BIVA system. The download archive includes the specific BIVA Software and reference values for adult and elderly populations
